Through a series of exercises leading to the creation of hand-made books, students use the elements of design to create compelling images in the way that a writer uses letters and words to compose stories and poems. Intentional connections to literacy and communication are driven home as works are presented in individual and/or collaborative books. This process will allow every student a new way to find their voice.

For Ages 6-12
There were an excess of bugs and insects throughout Earth's history, many of which were larger than our imagination allows! This year, we explore those ancient creatures and bring them to current day, explaining their critical importance and ecological connections because now we know they’re even more important to the survival of nearly everything on the Planet! As always, the audience will have an opportunity to hold the harmless, LIVE bugs and get answers to questions they might have.
Join us for a fun, hands-on "Meet the Instrument" workshop designed especially for young children!
In this workshop, we are meeting the snare drum through listening, movement, and playful music-making. We’ll learn how the instrument works, experiment with different sounds, and make music together! Please only register the kids in your party. Ages 4-8.
